AERO Australia was launched on 24 December 2003 through newsagents around Australia and New Zealand.

It has become clear that AERO Australia is a force to be reckoned with in the Australian aviation market. A loyal and growing readership has already been established — very good news for readers and advertisers alike.

Our research indicated the need for a features-based publication covering both contemporary and historical issues with authority andin sufficient detail to be kept for future reference. It indicated that all areas of the aviation scene should be covered—commercial, military, general aviation and industry.

The positive feedback generated by the early issues of the magazine clearly indicates that AERO Australia has correctly identified the need, achieved its aims and provided the level of quality wanted by readers.

Each issue of AERO Australia contains 8-10 major features covering a wide variety of subjects of both a modern/topical and historical nature. As part of AERO Australia's philosophy of providing quality in all areas of the publication, each article is given sufficient space to be presented properly in terms of words, illustrations and design.

Warbirds in Australia and New Zealand 2008/2009 is an AERO Australia special edition. Warbirds - by definition, the operation of ex-military aircraft by private individuals or organisations - has become one of the successful 'growth' areas of aviation all over the world as more and more people become attracted to these exciting and historically significant machines.

Warbirds in Australia and New Zealand is intended to record the history of warbird operations 'Down Under' with features covering past and current activities plus listings and other material to ensure the publications will become a major reference source and therefore kept by those who purchase it for many years.
