Wayne Starick

Modeller and IT specialist

Wayne has been married for 35 years and has three daughters, one grandson and granddaughter. He is now semi-retired (he was the manager of the Online Services team for the SA Education Dept) and now runs the multimedia group at his church.

Wayne has been a modeller since about age 10 (a legacy of his dad who was a very keen aeromodeller). He modelled solidly through his late primary, high school and university days. There was a big gap while he raised his family and resumed in the late '70s, early '80s.

Wayne is an avid reader (mainly aeronautical and techno-thrillers), keen videographer and interested in all things digital. His modelling endeavours have centred on aircraft but with many forays into other subject areas - armour, spacecraft and cars - with armour being the only real challenge to his aeronautical interest!

Wayne organises half of the AeroModelling feature in each issue of AERO Australia ably assisted by John Croker.
