Chevron Publishing Group
Background and information
The successful Chevron Group of companies came to life from the earlier business of Ray Berghouse and Tom Floyd, R and T Publishing. As their business ventures grew in popularity and number Ray and Tom needed to move into business premises and employ staff to assist them. Previously they had worked from home which meant associates had to travel from one home to the other to see them.
Tom Floyd retired from the business in 2003. John Kiddle brought his experience in the music industry to the business as he joined Ray as co-owner. Between them they continue to expand the business with new magazine titles and new DVD/video projects.
Today the Chevron Group of companies is Australia's large and diversified organisation producing magazines, books, anniversary posters, jigsaws and DVD/videos on diverse topics. The DVD/videos cover Australian motorsport, international golf instruction titles, major horse racing events, the Australian International AirShows and other aviation events.
Chevron's annual motor sport books, published for more than 34 years, form part of the history of the sport in Australia. The annual 1000km endurance race at Mt Panorama, Bathurst is a major part of Chevron's print media. It produces an annual book, a 40 year history book and an annual pre-race magazine providing enthusiasts with a comprehensive knowledge and entertainment package.
Post-race, Chevron publishes the annual Bathurst highlights DVD/video programme for home viewing. It also produces a periodically updated set of historical race highlights.
In addition to the books and DVD/videos Chevron is active in publishing regular consumer/enthusiast motoring, motorsport, rally and aviation magazines, major motorsport race programmes, anniversary posters and interesting jigsaws.
